Q: Are these authentic Chanel earrings?
A: Yes. Every piece at A Retro Tale is thoroughly authenticated by our in‑house experts. Authentic Chanel costume earrings typically feature a clear CHANEL signature plaque or stamp and quality construction; this pair also aligns with Chanel’s use of Made in Italy production for certain collections.

Q: Are they sterling silver?
A: No. These are silver‑tone Chanel costume jewellery earrings, which means a plated base metal rather than solid sterling silver. Chanel reserves precious metals for its Fine Jewellery lines; costume pieces like this pair are designed with plated finishes and glass/rhinestone embellishments.

Q: Clip‑on or for pierced ears?
A: They have post back closures for pierced ears, as shown and described. If you prefer extra support, universal silicone or locking earring backs can be used with standard posts.

Q: What are the measurements and how do they feel on?
A: Approx. 1.5 cm in height and 1 cm in width. Their petite size with slim profile makes them comfortable for everyday wear while still showcasing the CC and star motif with rhinestone sparkle.

Q: How should I care for Chanel rhinestone costume earrings?
A: Avoid water, perfume, lotions, alcohol and other chemicals; apply fragrance and cosmetics before putting them on. After wear, gently wipe with a soft dry cloth and store them separately in their box or a soft pouch, away from direct sunlight and humidity.

Q: Can I wear them in the shower or while swimming?
A: No. Chanel advises keeping costume jewellery completely away from water and moisture. Contact with water can dull plating and loosen rhinestones over time.

Q: Do Chanel costume earrings tarnish or lose stones?
A: With careful use and proper storage they age well, but all plated costume jewellery can show wear over time. Rhinestones may loosen if exposed to moisture, impact or extreme temperature changes. Handle with care; a professional jeweller can often replace or reset stones if ever needed.

Q: What markings should I expect on authentic Chanel earrings?
A: Many authentic pairs have a small oval or circular plaque on the back reading CHANEL and Made in France or Made in Italy. Many post‑1993 pieces also include a year and a season letter (for example P for Spring/Printemps or A for Autumn/Automne). Stamps vary by era and not every design is marked in the same way.

Q: I have sensitive ears—are these nickel‑free?
A: Chanel does not publish full metal compositions for vintage costume jewellery, so we cannot guarantee a nickel‑free content. If you are nickel‑sensitive, consider using barrier sleeves, hypoallergenic backs, or consult a dermatologist for strategies to wear costume earrings comfortably.

Q: What is included with this pair?
A: This item comes with a box as listed under Accessories. Everything included is always stated on the product page; please review the photos and details for confirmation.
