Q: Are these for pierced ears or clip-ons?
A: This pair features a push-back post closure for pierced ears, offering a secure and comfortable fit.

Q: What are they made of?
A: Dior fashion jewellery is typically crafted from plated metal (gold- or silver-finish) set with crystals and resin or glass pearls. This vintage pair has silver-toned hardware adorned with pink rhinestones and pearls. Unless stated otherwise, fashion jewellery is not solid precious metal.

Q: Are the pearls real?
A: In Dior’s fashion collections, the pearls are usually simulated (often called resin or glass pearls). Unless specifically described as cultured or natural, you should assume they are imitation pearls.

Q: How big are they and how do they feel on the ear?
A: They measure approximately 30 mm in height, 27 mm in width and 2 mm in depth. Most wearers find this size comfortable for several hours, though tolerance varies by individual.

Q: Can I wear them every day or in the shower?
A: For longevity, remove before bathing, swimming, exercising, or applying perfume, hairspray, or lotions. Keep the earrings dry and store them in a soft pouch or box away from direct sunlight and humidity. Wipe with a soft, lint-free cloth after wear to minimise build-up.

Q: How should I clean rhinestones and pearls safely?
A: Avoid soaking, ultrasonic cleaners, and harsh chemicals. Keep moisture away from rhinestones (especially foil-backed or glued settings) to prevent dulling or loosening. If needed, use a barely damp cloth on the metal and gently blot dry; for pearls, lightly wipe with a soft dry or slightly damp cloth only.

Q: Are they nickel-free/hypoallergenic?
A: Dior does not claim all fashion jewellery is nickel-free. If you have a nickel allergy, consider hypoallergenic earring backs, protective sleeves for posts, and discontinue wear if irritation occurs. Choosing lower-contact wear times can also help sensitive ears.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: Everything included is listed under product information. For this piece, a dustbag is included.

Q: How do you authenticate Dior jewellery?
A: Each item at A Retro Tale is rigorously authenticated by our in-house experts using multi-point checks of materials, construction, logos or hallmarks, and workmanship. Vintage Dior hallmarks and makers vary by era; we are happy to provide close-up photos or further details on request.

Q: What if a stone goes missing in the future?
A: Many jewellers experienced with costume jewellery can replace rhinestones and secure settings. If this ever happens, contact us and we can suggest next steps or refer you to a trusted specialist.
