Q: Are these earrings for pierced ears?
A: Yes—they are clip-on earrings, so they can be worn comfortably on non‑pierced ears and on pierced ears as well. For added comfort, consider using small silicone pads on the clip and taking short breaks during extended wear.

Q: Can clip-on earrings be converted to posts for pierced ears?
A: Many jewellers can convert clip-ons to posts. Conversion is a permanent alteration and may affect collectable value and structural integrity. We recommend consulting a professional first and checking our Returns policy before making any modifications.

Q: What are they made of?
A: This vintage pair features a silver‑tone finish with red apple and multicoloured bead charms. Dior costume jewellery typically uses plated base metals with glass, crystal or resin elements rather than solid precious metals, unless specifically stated. Any precious‑metal hallmarks would be shown and noted in the product information and photos.

Q: Are the coloured stones real gemstones?
A: In Dior costume jewellery, the “stones” are usually crystal, glass or resin. Unless the description specifies precious stones and metal hallmarks, please assume fashion materials. We have not lab‑tested this piece; contact us if you need further details.

Q: How can I tell these are authentic Dior?
A: Authentic Dior earrings usually carry signature stamps on the reverse or the clip mechanism. Markings vary by era (for example, “Chr. Dior”, “Christian Dior” often with a © and date, and sometimes a country of manufacture). Every item at A Retro Tale is carefully authenticated by our in‑house experts; the listing photos show the exact markings for this pair.

Q: Where is the signature located on this pair?
A: It is typically found on the back of the clip or the reverse of the earring. Please refer to the close‑up images on this page for the precise placement and wording.

Q: Are clip-on earrings comfortable to wear for several hours?
A: Comfort varies by ear shape and clip tension. Using silicone cushioning pads, ensuring the clip isn’t overly tight, and giving your ears brief rests can help reduce pressure during longer wear.

Q: How should I care for vintage costume jewellery like this?
A: Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth after each wear. Avoid water, perfume, lotions, alcohol‑based cleaners and ultrasonic machines, which can damage plating and stones. Store separately in a soft pouch in a cool, dry place to minimise scratches and tarnish.

Q: Will these irritate sensitive ears?
A: Like many vintage fashion pieces, the metal may contain alloys such as nickel. If you have sensitive skin, limit wear time, use protective pads, and discontinue use if irritation occurs. A dermatologist can advise on suitable barriers for sensitive ears.

Q: What is included with my purchase?
A: Everything included is listed under the product information section. If a Dior box or dust bag is not listed there, it is not included.

Q: What are the size and condition details?
A: Approx. 4 cm high and 1.5 cm wide. Overall in very good vintage condition with light signs of use; the hardware remains shiny with light surface scratches. Please review all photos for the most accurate view.
