Q: What typically fits inside the Louis Vuitton Neverfull PM?
A: With approximate measurements of 28 × 22 × 12 cm, the PM is ideal for everyday essentials: large smartphone, compact wallet or cardholder, keys, lipstick and a small cosmetics pouch, slim sunglasses in a soft case, AirPods, and an A5 diary/notebook. A4 documents generally will not lie flat, and the PM is not intended for bulky loads. Please refer to the Measurements on this page or ask us for a tailored fit check for this exact piece.

Q: Will it fit a tablet or a laptop?
A: Compact tablets (e.g., iPad mini/most e‑readers) typically fit comfortably. An 11‑inch tablet may fit horizontally but will be snug at the opening; 13‑inch laptops generally do not fit the PM. Compare your device’s dimensions with our Measurements, or contact us and we’ll test the fit for this item.

Q: Can I wear the PM on my shoulder?
A: This piece has dual flat leather handles with an approximate drop of 16 cm. Many wearers find the PM best carried by hand or in the crook of the arm; on some frames and lighter layers it can sit high on the shoulder but feels snug. If you prefer a more relaxed shoulder fit, the MM size is usually roomier under the arm.

Q: How secure is the closure and what is the interior layout?
A: The Neverfull features an open top with a clasp closure for quick access, side laces to cinch the silhouette, and a red striped textile lining with one hanging zipped pocket to keep valuables organised. Our listing photos show the exact configuration of this piece.

Q: Does the Neverfull PM come with a detachable pouch?
A: Later versions of the Neverfull were released with a detachable zipped pouch, while earlier editions were sold without one. On the pre‑loved market, pouches are often separated and sold individually. Everything included with this exact bag is listed under “Accessories” (this listing includes a dust bag). If an accessory is not listed, it is not included—please ask us to confirm.

Q: What materials does this PM have, and how does Damier Ebene wear over time?
A: This piece is crafted in Damier Ebene coated canvas with brown leather trim and gold‑tone hardware, lined in Louis Vuitton’s red striped textile. The treated leather handles/trim are generally more resistant to water marks and staining than untreated vachetta, making it a robust everyday choice with mindful use.

Q: How should I care for the coated canvas and leather?
A: Wipe the coated canvas gently with a soft, slightly damp cloth; avoid harsh chemicals and abrasives. Keep leather trim away from oils and dark denim to prevent colour transfer; condition smooth leather sparingly with a suitable neutral product. Store the bag upright, lightly stuffed, in a breathable dust bag, and avoid prolonged overloading to preserve its shape.

Q: Is the Neverfull being discontinued or hard to find?
A: The Neverfull remains one of Louis Vuitton’s most recognisable totes. Boutique availability can vary by season, material and region, and specific sizes like the Damier Ebene PM may be limited at times. The pre‑loved market is a reliable way to find particular configurations.

Q: Where are the brand markings and codes located, and how are newer bags dated?
A: Authentic Louis Vuitton bags feature an interior heat‑stamp (for example, “LOUIS VUITTON Paris” and the country of origin). Older Neverfulls typically have a date code hidden along an interior seam or under the pocket; from around 2021 the brand transitioned to an embedded microchip instead of a visible date code. Placement can vary—ask us for close‑ups if you’d like.

Q: What condition is this specific vintage piece in, and what’s included?
A: This item is in Very Good condition with light traces of use; the hardware is shiny with light scratches, and the exterior/interior show minimal wear. Included accessory: dust bag. Made in France. If an accessory isn’t listed under “Accessories,” it is not included—feel free to contact us for confirmation.

Q: How do you authenticate this bag?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale undergoes rigorous, multi‑point authentication by our in‑house experts, assessing materials, stitching, hardware, logo stamps, date code/microchip (as applicable) and overall construction. We stand behind the authenticity of every piece we sell.
