Q: Are these Louis Vuitton V Dangling Rhinestone Earrings authentic?
A: Yes. Every item at A Retro Tale is rigorously vetted by our in‑house experts and sold with our authenticity commitment. Shop with confidence.

Q: What are they made of? Are the rhinestones real diamonds and is the metal solid gold?
A: Louis Vuitton fashion jewellery is typically crafted from gold‑tone plated base metal (often brass) with glass crystals/rhinestones. It is not solid gold unless explicitly stated, and the stones are not diamonds. This pair features gold‑tone hardware, clear rhinestones and the signature V logo. Please review the close‑up photos and contact us if you’d like us to confirm the specific composition of this piece.

Q: Are they for pierced ears or clip‑on, and how do they fasten?
A: This pair is for pierced ears. LV dangling earrings commonly use a post with butterfly (push‑back) backs for security. Please check the images on this page to see the exact fastening, or message us for confirmation.

Q: What size and weight are they? Will they feel heavy?
A: The listed measurements are approximately 8.5 cm (height) x 3 cm (width) x 2 cm (depth). If you’d like the precise gram weight for comfort reference, just ask and we’ll measure it for you. Statement earrings have a pleasing presence; larger comfort backs can help distribute weight for extended wear.

Q: What hallmarks or stamps should I expect on Louis Vuitton earrings?
A: Typical markings include the LV logo or “LOUIS VUITTON,” often with a country of origin such as “Made in France/Italy,” and sometimes a season code. Placement varies by collection and era (e.g., on the reverse or near the fitting). Our listing photos show any stamps present on this pair; the country of origin is France.

Q: How should I care for the gold‑tone plating and rhinestones?
A: Keep them dry and away from perfume, hairspray, lotions and hand sanitiser. After wear, gently wipe with a soft, dry microfibre cloth; use a dry cotton bud around stone settings. Do not soak, use ultrasonic cleaners or chemical dips. Store individually in a pouch/box, away from humidity and direct sunlight, to preserve colour and sparkle.

Q: Are they nickel‑free and suitable for sensitive ears?
A: Vintage and fashion jewellery may contain nickel. If you have sensitivities, consider hypoallergenic barrier discs or applying a clear barrier product on contact points, and wear for shorter periods. Discontinue use if irritation occurs and contact us for guidance.

Q: Will the plating or stones show wear over time? Can I wear them in water?
A: Plated finishes can show light surface wear or minor colour fade at high‑contact points, and rhinestones can dull if exposed to moisture or cosmetics. We recommend keeping them dry, removing them before bathing or swimming, and storing them carefully to prolong their appearance.

Q: Can they be repaired, have a stone re‑set, or be replated?
A: Louis Vuitton service for fashion jewellery is at their discretion and varies by boutique. Competent jewellers can replace butterfly backs, adjust/tighten posts, re‑set rhinestones and perform gentle replating. We don’t modify items in‑house but can recommend reputable specialists on request; note that alterations may affect originality and resale value.

Q: What condition should I expect, what is included, and can I return them?
A: This pair is in Like New Condition unless stated otherwise. Only accessories specifically shown or listed are included; this listing includes a box. Earrings are eligible for return under our standard policy provided they are unworn, any hygiene seals (if applied) remain intact, and they are returned in the same condition received. Please see our Returns page for full details.
