Q: What is Gripoix and are the colourful stones real gemstones?
A: Gripoix refers to a historic poured-glass technique used by Chanel, where molten glass is poured into metal settings to create jewel-like cabochons. The vibrant stones are glass rather than natural gemstones, and slight variations, tiny bubbles or flow lines are normal characteristics of this hand-crafted process.

Q: How can I tell this piece dates to 1993?
A: Chanel jewellery from the early 1990s typically features an oval signature plaque reading CHANEL and Made in France, with the last two digits of the year to the left of the CC logo and a season letter to the right (P for spring, A for autumn). Placement varies by design. Our experts have verified the date and authenticity of this necklace in line with these period details.

Q: What is the length and how can it be styled?
A: The chain measures approximately 80 cm, designed to sit long on the body. It can also be doubled and fastened to wear as a shorter, layered look of about 40 cm, subject to your comfort and the position of pendants along the chain.

Q: What are the pendant dimensions?
A: Each Coco Mark Gripoix pendant is approximately 4 × 4 cm. Please see the Measurements section and product images for scale and visual reference.

Q: What metals are used and how should I care for it?
A: This is gold-plated fashion jewellery. To preserve the finish, avoid contact with water, perfume, lotions and cleaning chemicals; wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth after wear; and store separately in a dry, cool place away from humidity and direct sunlight.

Q: Are the glass elements durable for regular wear?
A: Gripoix glass is sturdy for normal wear but, like any glass, can chip or crack if knocked or dropped. Avoid hard impacts, do not use ultrasonic cleaners, and handle with care when putting on or taking off the necklace.

Q: What clasp does it have and is it adjustable?
A: It closes with a spring ring clasp. The necklace is not adjustable in the conventional sense, but you can wear it long or double it for a shorter look depending on your outfit and comfort.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: Everything included is listed in the product information section. If an item such as a branded box, pouch or card is not listed there, it is not included.

Q: What is the condition of this vintage piece?
A: Very Good vintage condition with light traces of use. The hardware remains shiny with light surface scratches consistent with age and careful wear. Please review all photos for the most accurate view of condition.

Q: Will the gold plating wear, and can it be replated?
A: Light micro-scratches and gentle softening of gold tone may occur over time with normal wear. Replating is possible through a specialist, but may alter original patina and could affect collector value. We do not perform modifications on request; if you choose to proceed, consult a trusted professional.
