Q: Are these for pierced ears or clip-ons?
A: They are for pierced ears and secure with a post‑back fastening (push‑back). If you prefer extra support, larger comfort backs or silicone stabilisers can be used and are widely available from jewellers.

Q: How big are they and how do they feel on the ear?
A: They measure approximately 2.5 cm high × 2 cm wide × 0.5 cm deep (about 1.0 × 0.8 × 0.2 in). This is a medium size; most find them comfortable for evening or all‑day wear, though comfort can vary based on lobe sensitivity.

Q: Are the stones diamonds?
A: No. The stones are rhinestone crystals, typical of Chanel fashion jewellery designs. They offer brilliant sparkle without being fine gemstones.

Q: Can I wear them in the shower, swimming, or while applying perfume?
A: We recommend removing them before washing, swimming, exercising, or applying perfume and hair products. Contact with water, soap, detergents, or chemicals can dull rhinestones and plating. Store each earring separately in its pouch or box after wear.

Q: How should I clean and care for the rhinestones?
A: Wipe gently with a soft, dry, non‑pilling cloth after each wear. Do not soak or submerge rhinestone jewellery and avoid ultrasonic cleaners, as moisture can seep behind foiled stones and cause clouding. If needed, lightly dab the metal only with a barely damp cloth, keeping moisture away from stone backs, then dry thoroughly.

Q: Are they hypoallergenic or nickel‑free?
A: Fashion jewellery often uses plated base‑metal alloys which may contain trace nickel. If you have metal sensitivities, consider shorter wear times, use barrier discs, and choose hypoallergenic backings. We cannot guarantee nickel‑free composition for this vintage/second‑hand piece.

Q: Will the plating or stones change over time?
A: With normal wear, minor surface marks or a gentle patina can develop. Careful handling—keeping them dry, avoiding chemicals, and storing individually—helps maintain shine and reduces abrasion to the plating and stones.

Q: What if a rhinestone becomes loose or goes missing?
A: Chanel offers care services for fashion jewellery subject to in‑boutique assessment and availability. Experienced costume‑jewellery specialists can also replace like‑for‑like rhinestones. Please contact us if you would like guidance on repair options.

Q: Do Chanel earrings come with an authenticity card?
A: Chanel fashion jewellery typically does not come with an authenticity card. Instead, pieces generally feature Chanel signatures/hallmarks on the reverse or on a small plaque, which can help indicate the era. On the resale market, documentation may vary by item.
