Q: Are these Chanel Coco Mark Snowflake Earrings authentic?
A: Yes. Every item at A Retro Tale is rigorously vetted by our in‑house experts and sold with our authenticity commitment. Shop with confidence.

Q: What are they made from? Are they solid silver?
A: Chanel fashion (costume) jewellery is typically crafted from plated base metal with decorative elements such as crystals, resin or glass pearls. This pair is described as silver‑tone metal with crystal embellishments and the interlocking CC logo with a dangling snowflake charm. They are not solid sterling silver unless explicitly stated. If you’d like us to confirm any specific composition details for this pair, just ask and we’ll check the stamps and finishes for you.

Q: What are the measurements and how do they sit on the ear?
A: They are approximately 2.5 cm (height) x 1.5 cm (width) x 1.5 cm (depth). On most lobes, they read as a petite stud with a short, sparkling snowflake drop. If you’d like the exact gram weight or a photo on ear for scale, message us and we’ll provide it.

Q: How do they fasten and are the backs secure?
A: They feature a post‑back (butterfly/friction) closure. Ensure the backs are fully seated before wear. If you prefer extra support, we can recommend larger disc or silicone comfort backs to help stabilise the earlobe.

Q: Are they suitable for sensitive ears? Are they nickel‑free?
A: Vintage and fashion jewellery may contain nickel. If you have sensitivities, consider using a clear barrier product on contact points or wearing for shorter intervals, and discontinue use if irritation occurs. We’re happy to advise further if you have allergies.

Q: What hallmarks or stamps should I expect on Chanel earrings?
A: Many vintage Chanel earrings carry an oval or round plaque stamped CHANEL and often “Made in France/Italy,” sometimes with a season/date code. Placement and format vary by era. This pair is noted as France; our listing photos show any stamps present.

Q: How should I care for the silver‑tone plating and crystals?
A: Keep them dry and away from perfume, lotions, hairspray and hand sanitiser. Apply cosmetics before putting them on. After wear, gently wipe with a soft, dry microfibre cloth. Do not soak, use ultrasonic cleaners or chemical dips. Store separately in a pouch/box, away from humidity and direct sunlight, to minimise scratches and preserve the finish and sparkle.

Q: Can I wear them in water, while exercising, or to sleep?
A: We recommend removing costume jewellery before showering, swimming, exercising or sleeping. Moisture and friction accelerate wear to plating and settings over time.

Q: Can missing crystals be replaced or the metal replated?
A: Many competent jewellers and specialist workshops can replace crystals, tighten settings and perform gentle replating on fashion jewellery. Chanel boutiques can advise on available after‑sales options; availability for costume pieces varies by region and season. Any modification may affect originality and resale value—contact us if you’d like recommendations.

Q: What condition should I expect, what is included, and can I return them?
A: These earrings are in Very Good Condition with light signs of careful wear possible unless noted otherwise. This listing includes no accessories unless specifically shown or stated. Returns are accepted under our standard policy—please see our Returns page for eligibility, timeframes and conditions, and ensure the item is returned in the same condition received.
